Corneal / IOL Bank

IOL bank is an organization which deals with the collection , storage and distribution of the cornea for the purpose of corneal grafting , research and supply of the eye tissue for other ophthalmic purposes.

The cornea is the only part of the eye that can currently undergo transplantation. In contrast to other organs, there is an adequate supply of corneas for transplants.

Fred Hollows Foundation (Australia) has helped in establishing this centre to provide high quality Intraocular Lenses and Consumables at affordable price to poor and charitable organizations and Secondary level Government Hospitals.
